Furniture Checklist

Purchased:
- Couch
- Living Room Chair (light-blue denim papasan chair, frame purchased at Salvation Army for $15 instead of $50 new, cushion purchsed at clearance because it was the only one of that color they had left, $24.95 instead of $50, matches the hell out of the couch)
- Cute End Table (antiquey looking blue and wood table with storage space underneath, might match papasan cushion, haven't decided yet, if not will refinish)
- Wall Cabinet Thingey (atintiquey looking used-to-be-brown-wood-but-now-made-light-blue-with-stars cabinet with shelves and hammered tin front, small, decorative, nails to wall)

To Purchase:
- Desk (several options at local Salvation Army thrift store for 30-75 bucks, must decide on one and decide what I'm going to do to it to make it Violaceous)
- Bed headboard and footboard (several options at local Salvation Army thrift store, have decided on painting bright purple, must choose one and haul it home in [info]goingferal's truck, possibly this Saturday? ;))
- Dresser (have eye on funky one at Salvation Army for $35, want to capture and paint bright purple to match bed, possibly also in [info]goingferal's truck?)
- Kitchen Table and Chairs (have eye on pair of wooden chairs at Salvation Army to repaint and decoupage for $10 each, have not spotted a table that is small enough to fit in my kitchen yet, have suitable materials to decoupage once I find the right one)
- Coffee Table (stalking one at local consignment store for $100, possibly too much money, but it is really really cool with neat carving and glass top, would be very fun to decorate)
- Lamps (Salvation Army has lots of cool lamps, also have heard that Target has a lot of neato lamps for cheap, have idea for customized shade if I can get the right hardware for it)
- Sewing Machine (sick of not having a sewing machine, must make curtains and throw pillows or might explode, I hope I can find one at a yard sale or freecycle or something so I don't have to pay a bunch of money for it)
- Art Poster (to match furniture in living room, can frame myself if 24x36, open to suggestions, have discovered bunches of cheap prints of vintage scenes from Los Angeles on art.com, once I figure out where to get cheap frames in 11x17 and 8.5x11 I'll purchase 3-5 of them, colors are perfect)
- Mirror (seen some cheap ones at Salvation Army, very fun to decorate, maybe paint one purple and put it in the bedroom? Also nifty gold sun-shaped mirror at store downtown, might match decor in living room)
- Microwave (may get free from work when they swap out their old one for a newer model someone donated)
- Decorative Pillows, Curtains, Etc. (have some material for curtains in bathroom and bedroom, need something for living room, have eye on tapestries sold by vendors downtown to turn into throw pillows, maybe purple for bedroom? will need curtain rods too, possibly from Target)

I must also decide what to do with the paperweight voyager machine computer. My options are: (1) set it up in the bedroom like I have it now (2) set it up in the study so I can quit my habit of watching before bed each night, but I could occasionally watch and nap on the futon in the study if I wanted to (3) have computer geek, possibly [info]locksmith, retrieve all of the useful files off of it and either format or trash the stupid thing.

Thoughts:
1) Hooray for purple!
2) "matches the hell out of the couch" - love this phrase
3) Are you moving into a new home?

That I am! I'm getting a "grown-up" apartment. No more student flats, and no more listening to my dad when he says that furniture and things like that are a burden and you should only buy stuff you can throw out next year. I'm renting half of a duplex with room for a study and hardwood floors and a fireplace, in a nice residential neighborhood, not a studenty area. YAY!!!

Excited, a tad. Plus I'm getting good internet service when I move.

If I ever get around to visiting (might be a while now with the moving and all) I could take care of the voyager machine. I've wanted to for fuckin yeeeears. Plus it still has some stuff on it of mine that I would like to keep.

Also, what happen to your last microwave...?

Also also, you're going to make some very large messes aren't you? :-P

The microwave belongs to the apartment, I'm 99% sure. I don't remember buying one. My new place doesn't come with a microwave.

I AM going to make some very large messes, yups. Just wait till I get that sewing machine. And you should've seen how much decoupage glue I got on myself when covering that blue cabinet thing.

You can take care of the voyager machine, if you actually come take care of it. Remember, the CD burner is broken, so it might not be an easy task.
